No Place Like Home
Vesemir takes Uma away for the night to try a folk cure, and the witchers have the evening off. How it ends is up to you. Hear Eskel's samovila story and play Lambert's "I've never…" drinking game and the three of you get properly drunk, which leads to a hunt for Eskel (500 XP) and a megascope call that reaches Hierarch Hemmelfart instead of a sorceress. Go to sleep early and you miss both.
Choices
4Yennefer's invitation
Only if you told Yennefer you love her in The Last Wish
- "Sounds great."
You go upstairs with her, and Lambert won't let it go when you come back.
- "Don't get mad, but…"
She cuts you off and decides she needs a drink.
How the night goes
After Yennefer goes to bed
- "So - this samovila?"
Eskel's story. Counts toward getting drunk.
- "Let's have some fun."
Lambert's "I've never…" game. Counts toward getting drunk; with the story as well, the night goes on to Eskel's disappearance.
- "How about a round of cards?"
Gwent with Lambert. Doesn't affect anything else.
- "Time to go to sleep."
The night ends here, without the search for Eskel or its 500 XP.
Lambert's idea
After you find Eskel
- "You're a genius!"
On to the megascope.
- "Think you've had your last drink."
Lambert wants to fight you, then everyone goes to bed.
The dresses
At the megascope
- "We're squeezing into those dresses."
You dress up, and Hemmelfart thinks the Lodge has come for him.
- "Don't like the idea, either."
No dresses, and Hemmelfart shouts that witchers are attacking.
Walkthrough
5Vesemir's remedy
NextOnce Yennefer, Eskel and Lambert all have what they need, go to the main hall. Yennefer is ready to start, but Vesemir won't allow it until he has tried his own method: he'll lay Uma on a gravestone in the mountains and give him hemlock tea at midnight, and he'll be back at dawn. Eskel suggests fixing the roof beams in the tower; drinking wins the vote. If you told Yennefer you love her in The Last Wish, she takes you aside first and invites you upstairs.
Drinks with Yennefer
Yennefer joins the drinking. Ask Lambert about his contract in Lan Exeter or Eskel about the higher vampire he hunted in Aldersberg; Lambert will needle you about Triss. Eventually Yennefer tells them her plan: she'll put Uma through the first half of the Trial of Grasses, the first Trial in decades. Ask about Uma's chances and she admits they aren't great. Then she goes to bed, and you go back to the witchers.
The Gauntlet
Lambert pours "the Gauntlet", equal parts spirit and White Gull. From here you can hear Eskel's samovila story, play Lambert's "I've never…" game, play gwent with Lambert (for money if you want) or call it a night. The story and the drinking game each get you drunker; do both and Eskel goes off for more vodka and doesn't come back. Geralt and Lambert get sentimental, and Lambert puts on Vesemir's old hat to lead the search party.
Where's Eskel?
Use your Witcher Senses: Eskel spilled some wine and crawled through it, and further on there's a sound like a wounded wyvern panting. It's Eskel, passed out (500 XP). Lambert has an idea: switch on the megascope and invite the sorceress Yennefer talked to, and maybe some of her friends.
The megascope
12In Yennefer's room Lambert decides you'll scare the sorceress off looking like witchers, so you should wear Yennefer's clothes from her trunks. Geralt mutters some "Elvish" and the megascope connects to Hierarch Hemmelfart, who screams for his guards. Yennefer walks in and sends all three of you to bed.
Rewards
At most 500 XP in one playthrough.
Tips
- If you gave Eskel a bottle of Mahakaman spirit after the forktail race, it's what he suggests drinking.

Journal
Once Geralt had helped both Lambert and Eskel, Yennefer was ready to lift Uma's curse. Yet in a surprise twist, Vesemir demanded they wait. The old witcher wanted to try his own, less risky method before the sorceress went about her invasive business. The others all bowed to his seniority and wisdom and let him take Uma to treat as he wished - leaving them with an unexpectedly free evening to fill. Eskel timidly suggested they spend this time productively, but this suggestion lost out to a more attractive alternative - a night of drink and camaraderie.
During their well-lubricated gathering Yennefer finally revealed her plan to the witchers: if Vesemir proved unable to lift Uma's curse, she would subject the being to the Trials of Grasses. These were the exceptionally dangerous and painful alchemical procedures young boys used to be forced to undergo in order to become witchers. It is no wonder, then, that Yennefer's intentions proved highly controversial. The sorceress defended her idea, holding that only by preparing Uma's body in this drastic way would it be able to survive the shock of lifting the curse. This upsetting news needed to be properly digested. And so, after Yennefer went to sleep, the witchers turned to the tried and true digestive-aiding powers of hard alcohol, card playing and the recounting of ribald tales.

The sorceress defended her idea, holding that only by preparing Uma's body in this drastic way would it be able to survive the shock of lifting the curse. This unsettling news needed time to be properly digested, and so the witchers broke out a few more bottles and exchanged some stories with Yennefer before heading to bed. They had a very big day ahead of them - a day in which they just might find Ciri.
Yet even a witcher's body can only handle so much toxicity - and once this limit is passed, one must prepare for the unusual and the disturbing, a fact Hierarch Hemmelfart learned first-hand.
